How Does Microblading Work?

Microblading is the artistic technique using a manual method of tattooing that creates beautiful, individual hair strokes. The results? Gorgeous, natural looking eyebrows, regardless of the amount of hair present. The art of microblading utilizes a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles to add pigment to the skin.

Microblading is typically used on eyebrows to create, enhance or reshape their appearance in terms of both shape and color.

It deposits pigment into upper region of the dermis, so it fades more rapidly than traditional tattooing techniques, which deposit pigment deeper. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine.

The Microblading Process

If you are inspired to transform your brows by taking them to the next level. You have come to the right place!

Sanela has mastered the microblading process to give you natural-looking eyebrows that match your unique facial features and make you love your new brows! Sanela will never rush during any part of the microblading process; she takes her time to ensure your satisfaction and comfort. It’s essential to know how long microblading takes for planning purposes. The average microblading appointment usually takes two hours from beginning to end. Now, let’s start the microblading steps:

  1. Paperwork and consultation: We will review your medical history to ensure that microblading is right for you. After we determine that microblading is right for you, we will discuss your desired eyebrow shape and color.
  2. We will take before photos.
  3. Clean and prep your skin for the drawing process. Using special brow measuring tools, Sanela will map out and pre-draw your eyebrow shape that best suits your facial features. The adjustment will be made during this process to guarantee your satisfaction. No microblading procedure will begin before your 100% approval of the size and shape of the pre-drawn eyebrows. This tends to be the longest and most important process.
  4. We apply numbing cream to your eyebrows. The numbing process takes 20 minutes.
  5. The microblading process begins. We use manual sterile and disposable hand tools to create hair-like strokes that resemble brow hair. Throughout the procedure, we reapply numbing cream to ensure comfort. This process takes anywhere between 20-40 minutes.
  6. The big and exciting reveal! You get to see your new eyebrows!
  7. We take the after photos.
  8. We will go over the aftercare and provide you with an aftercare kit.
  9. Your 4-8 week touch-up will be scheduled before you leave, and show off your new eyebrows to your family and friends!

There are three different brow techniques! Microblading, Microshading (Ombre Brows/Powder brows), and Combo Brows.

Thinking about having your eyebrows done, but can’t decide which technique to pick? That’s a perfectly understandable conundrum to have. Microblading and Microshading techniques are both amazing and they each bring a different flare to the look they create. There are many different things to consider when deciding what to pick – skin type, elasticity of the skin, prior cosmetic procedures, the desired look, etc. We will discuss all of these topics during your consultation to help you decide what is the best look for you.
