Stop struggling with the extra time and effort required to apply and re-apply your makeup each day. Get that look you really desire with permanent makeup, applied by a trained professional. Traditional permanent makeup (also known as PMU, or permanent cosmetics), is administered by a machine, and is completely safe. It is most often applied to the eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing that enhances your natural features by implanting pigment into the skin. It’s commonly used for brows, eyeliner, and lips, creating long-lasting definition and color that reduces the need for daily makeup. Techniques like nano brows, ombre powder brows, lip blushing, and tattooed eyeliner offer natural-looking results tailored to your individual style and skin tone. Permanent makeup is perfect for anyone wanting to save time, boost confidence, or achieve a polished, smudge-proof look every day. At Maine Brow and Lash, we specialize in safe, professional PMU services designed to enhance your natural beauty.
Most clients describe the sensation of permanent makeup as mild discomfort rather than pain. We use a high-quality, topical numbing cream before and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but most people compare it to a light scratching or tickling feeling. Areas like the lips and eyeliner may be slightly more sensitive, but the process is generally very tolerable. At Maine Brow and Lash, your comfort is our priority — we take every step to ensure a calm, gentle experience.
After completion of the client’s medical history, necessary paperwork, and the initial consultation, the artist will use professional eyebrow measuring tools to pre-draw the eyebrows that best fit the client’s unique facial features, while keeping the symmetry and aesthetics in mind. Once the client approves of the size and shape, the artist will apply topical numbing cream over the brows. While waiting for the numbing to take full effect, the artist and the client will select the perfect eyebrow color together. Since microblading is a two-session process, we always recommend going a little more conservative during the first session. It is always easier to add than subtract. Once the color has been selected, and the skin has numbed, the artist will start microblading. The eyebrow microblading process takes about 20 minutes. Once completed, the new brows are revealed to the client, and the aftercare instructions are discussed.
Depending on the client’s skin type and skincare routine, microblading can last anywhere from 1-3 years. Individuals with oily skin tend to experience faster fading and might need touch ups every 6-12 months, while individuals with dryer skin might need touch ups every 12-18 months. Your eyebrows might not fully fade before your touch ups, but they will look lighter. Daily use of a facial exfoliator and routine professional facial peels can affect the longevity of the microbladed eyebrows.

Absolutely! Microblading is an excellent option for individuals with no brows or missing brow hairs on certain areas.
Yes, it can!
We don’t recommend microblading to pregnant or nursing women. Please wait until you are finished nursing for the safety of your and your child’s health.
Please refer to our Is Microblading/PMU Right For Me? page for in-depth information on this subject.
It depends on how the previous tattoo or permanent makeup has faded. The best cover-up would be 60% or slightly more faded. We will have to utilize a combo or shading technique to cover up the tattoo.
In the first seven days, you’ll need to avoid working out, wearing brow makeup, or getting your eyebrows wet. It takes nearly 30 days for the microblading to completely heal, in which time you may experience mild scabbing.

We design first, approve with you, and take a conservative approach so the result feels like you- only easier.
